Short curtain pole brackets (alternatives to double curtain poles)

I want to hang double curtains, but without using a proper double curtain pole due to the length of the double brackets.

I’ve searched loads have come across this picture which looks like it would be nice and compact, so I could insert a cafe rod behind a normal size pole. But I can’t find the type of bracket anywhere. I’ve tried including a length in the search term, ‘cafe rod bracket’ but I’m just getting normal brackets.

I want to avoid using a proper double bracket, because the only way I can have my sofas would mean the curtains will be squashed behind them if the pole sticks out too far (typically awkward narrow room)

Does it have to be a double rod ?
Or could you fit a narrow rod in the window recess instead, perhaps using something like a copper pipe

Or look at West Elm , but your bank balance needs to be healthy !

Have you looked at IKEA? They do a lot of double pole combinations and some look pretty similar to your photo.

OP, this thingy looks similar to the compact bracket on your photo www.cottinghamcollection.co.uk/product/tapestry-curtain-rail-bracket-ant-iron-19mm-rod/

So maybe try search for tapestry brackets? I didn't know about tapestry brackets until tonight! My quick Google has revealed they're usually compact but olde worlde. But I haven't searched extensively for all possible finishes.

Thank you these are great!

I have double doors with shorter windows either side NewYearCalavicci I did try and see if the recess would work but the inner curtains don’t sit well past the window sills, otherwise it would have been a perfect solution!

You can get double curtain hooks, so you can hang a pair each side.

But that only works if you have want both pairs open/closed at the same time.
