Chosen wall colours - homebase lime frost with a feature/accent wall in homebase fresh herb. Woodwork will also be in Gresh herb.

Question 1
Do we paint the ceiling coving in fresh herb also or do we leave it white like the ceiling?

Next set of questions:
What colour curtains? What colour carpet?

We aren't buying new furniture, we have some old inherited hand me down pine wardrobe and chest of drawers. Should we paint them in the fresh herb woodwork colour as well or is that a bit much? It's currently varnished orange pine, very orange due to age.

I have to be honest, I don’t like lime frost at all, are you sure about the colour, it’s very dated looking and a bit of nothing. The fresh herb is better

I’d do the whole room in that colour, leave the coving white and I’d chalk paint the pine furniture in a cream colour and use that for the blinds. I don’t really like curtains and you get some beautiful Roman blinds now in velvets and silks.

I'd say cream is more dated than Lime Frost!

As I said we've chosen the wall colour - it's just the coving, curtains, carpet and furniture that we're unsure of.

What colour carpet might go do you think?

And also wondering whether a pattern on curtains/blind might add a bit more interest, not sure.

It’s not more dated for furniture op.

But your call. 😃

Well obviously it's my call.

Personally I’m a fan of painting ceiling and coving and skirting the same colour as walls – makes rooms look bigger – but tricky to do if you’re doing a feature wall as well, so in this case I’d stick with white.

Patterned curtains sound good, and could you strip the orange varnish off the pine and wax it instead?

I'd keep coving white like the ceiling. And I'd ditch the Lime Frost and go for the Fresh Herb all round. The lime one is a bit meh.
