Dark colour in sunny room

I promised dh that he could choose the colour in one room of our house. We agreed that a dark blue would work with the light/oak floor and table and that we'd get gold/mustard accessories.

But that was in winter.

Now the sun's out, I can see that the room is glorious from about 7am. It has 2 sliding doors and looks like I've brought the sun into the house. It's currently white.

Will dark blue ruin the gorgeous sun?

It won't ruin it. Any colour looks better than a white wall.

I'm not keen on dark colours in south facing rooms. I think they're better in north ones.

White is the only colour I'have. Dark colours don't suit sunny rooms and will be a pig to paint over

It's kind of east facing, but big glass doors and looks out on the garden. I sort of think it could take dark, if I kept the wall with windows on light. One wall will have dh's prints on it, so a dark wall will set them off.
Might just have to do lots of colour swatches.

I have painted over dark walls before. Ds went through a purple phase.....

We have dark walls in most of our south facing rooms which are all v sunny.

It works for us.
