What to paint a multi purpose room

I live in a converted bungalow with two bedrooms upstairs and one bedroom downstairs, which is currently used as an office and toy room. Child number two is due soon so the downstairs bedroom is going to become a sleeping room for me and him and the toys will remain in here. Office not required as on mat leave.

In the long run I imagine child two, to move into child's one bedroom so the downstairs bedroom will become a spare room and potentially an office again or maybe each child will have their own room!!

It needs decorating but I've literally no idea what to do...paint, wallpaper or any colour. The carpet is a beige colour but everything else can be changed.

I am thinking to just paint it for the time being until we know the final purpose of the room, but what colour!?!!! Please help

Just painting it sounds like the most sensible option, especially if it's going to be a playroom as well as a nursery.

If you have a beige toned carpet you probably can't go wrong with a warmish neutral. I really like Pale Walnut from Dulux or I've just painted my living room in Good Intentions by Coat and seems to work with everything beige and greyer
