...any recommendations? Ideally looking to spend no more than £500 (perhaps up to £750) but appreciate this may not be possible within this budget. Open to different styles but needs to be no more than 200cm wide and seat not too low. Thanks!

Brilliant, thank you all. Any others to consider?

Ikea sofas are great for quality and longevity on a budget. Ours has lasted 16 years, 11 in our home then gifted to a relative for their play room. We had an Argos to replace - huge mistake.

I agree ikea ektorp - best sofa ever. We have had many sofas, of varying expense and the ektorp in the kitchen is my favourite it gets regular use and is 12 years old but still looks good.

Have to agree with ikea. We have ektorp also but most of the ones we sat upon were very comfortable

We've got a fancy sofa and IKEA Stocksund armchairs - honestly I wish we'd bought the Stocksund sofa instead of the fancy one. The fabric three seater is only slightly over your budget at £529.

Ektorp has probably the most fabric choice though it's not my favourite shape.

If you get an Ikea sofa but don't like their covers, Bemz or Soferia sell a huge variety of covers for all the main Ikea sofa styles.

DD has a 3 seater DFS Lockton bought last year. Not sure if still available.
