Bathroom in holiday let.

We are doing up a two bed, two bath holiday let. One bathroom just has a shower. The other has a bath and no room for a separate shower. Should we put one over the bath? Or just have a really luxurious double ended bath? There is also an outdoor shower for coming in off the beach. Would you be upset if you didn't have a shower in one of the bathrooms?
Also wondering if anyone can recommend good solid traditional bathrooms - I'm currently looking at Burlington and Bayswater ranges. Anyone know of a really comfortable traditional double ended bath?! Thank you

I would as I never have baths. It would be useful to have 2 showers (one preferably electric in case the boiler breaks down if you don't have an immersion heater)

I would be really upset there wasn't a shower. I don't fancy trying to wash my long hair in the bath. I simply wouldn't book a place that didn't have a shower. An outdoor shower is not the answer - I don't fancy being out in the elements, naked and trying to rinse my hair.

I think she has one bath, one outdoor shower and a normal shower if I’m reading the OP correctly.

I think one shower one bath is fine for a 2 bed. A nice luxurious bathroom with a bath is a bonus for me when booking holiday lets.

Agree with PP no shower would be an issue but sounds like that’s not in question.

I agree that one shower, one bath is fine and wouldn't put me off.

I would suggest adding a hand held shower to the bath if you can, though... I've always found them useful for washing/rinsing hair and cleaning the bath, etc.

I’d check it against your guest expectations. If you think it will be mainly families then 1 shower 1 bath would probably be fine. If you think it will be a lot of pairs of adults staying, might be problematic to all share a single indoor shower (that is accessed through one of their rooms) for daily use.

I'd choose having a shower over the tub option. It covers both.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 11/02/2022 06:42

Shower over the bath covers all bases and is useful for cleaning in a let too.

MaizeAmaze · 11/02/2022 06:56

Shower over the bath for preference.

Tiltawhirl · 11/02/2022 18:21

I’d want a proper shower over the bath as I have long hair and it’s a pain to wash with a handheld unit. And water inevitably goes everywhere!

Sometimes I’d just have a bath and leave hair but wouldn’t always be convenient to do that. Those times it would be a real pain to have to go to the other bathroom.

But I do dream of a luxury bath so I’d just get the best bath possible that will work with a built in shower.

A different perspective from me as someone who can’t use baths. If sharing the shower room wasn’t an option (such as non related couples) I’d be stuck.

I have interstitial cystitis which feels like a uti every second of my life. I cannot physically immerse in water as it flares it up. I wouldn’t book to go somewhere I couldn’t shower.

We have a two bed holiday let. Only one bathroom. We opted for no bath and just a large walk in shower. It’s a positive that everyone comments on. Main groups are families with children.
We offer baby bath if any small small guests.

SNUG2022 · 11/02/2022 18:29

Yes, if two couples sharing so no access to their shower, I couldn't cope! Cannot bear a bath!

Justkeeppedaling · 11/02/2022 18:30

My preferred option would be two showers, no baths.
If we booked with another couple, as we do, one couple wouldn't be able to shower the whole holiday.

CrinklyCraggy · 11/02/2022 18:31

For a family we'd just share the shower, for couple I'd want two showers

LauraJayne15 · 12/02/2022 19:51

You could add a shower over the roll top as a compromise. Use an oval shower rail and shower curtains

My preference would be a lush bath as it’s something I look for when booking a holiday place. Is the bathroom with a shower an en-suite?

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 12/02/2022 19:54

I’d never go anywhere without a bath.

Thanks all, going for shower in one bathroom and bath with shower over in the other - this was really useful!
