Non-squishy sofas

I'm looking to buy a new 2-seater sofa but could really do with some recommendations please. I bought my current one a few years ago but I've never liked it. It's quite squishy and has no support at all. I struggle to get up and then I find I'm aching for a while afterwards.

Years ago sofas were all quite firm but these days most of them are made of puffy cushions which I just can't stand. I don't want anything rock hard but do need something that offers some support.

The other problem I've got is because I live in quite a rural location the nearest 'big' shops are over 80 miles away so it's not so easy to go round the shops to test them out. Any advice would be most welcome.

Next gosford range is fab, it’s basically a fabric chesterfield with firm cushions, high back and arms.

I’ve got a Snug Sofa Rebel. It’s firm but very comfortable

We have a nabru, as I've got a favourite seat we have a mix of the soft base
and firm base and the softs still plenty firm enough to support my dodgy back. Only downside is they are flatpack, I love building things though.

I bought a sofa from Daals recently. Very firm and comfortable. Brilliant service and delivery. Easy assembly. Great price. It's a bit lightweight - doesn't feel weighted to the ground as much as my old sofa did, but I like it.

Thanks all, I'll take a look at those.

I have the sofa @AperolWhore mentioned and it’s so comfortable!

You need to go for foam not fibre. Fibre is rubbish, it just sinks. Foam is so much more comfortable and supportive.

We have a tetrad Chesterfield style. It’s firm and I bloody hate it and want a marshmallow to sink into. But DH who loves a supportive chair really likes it!

Also have the Snug Rebel and really like it's firmness. Very comfortable

Thanks again. @RussianSpy101, the point about foam vs fibre is very interesting.

I’ve got the Snug Big Chill and it’s so bloody comfortable that I end up asleep on it, but it’s still firm. I did test it out before I bought it as I also don’t like the ones that are too squishy.

I have the Bounce sofa from Furniture Village. I went with the non recliner option but it still has the same structure so it is firm, high back etc. I love it.
