Painting radiators

I'm currently painting my hallway walls and I'm thinking of painting the radiator, has anyone got any advice? My radiator will be on very low or off. Will wall paint just flake off or is it worth getting an emulation paint? Thanks in advance ☺️

Wall paint = emulsion.

If you really want to paint it then use radiator paint.

Yes, definitely radiator paint. It comes in small tins so you’re unlikely to waste any - Hammerite is a good brand.

If you want the radiator to match or completely blend in with whatever colour you have on the walls, use the eggshell finish of the brand you've chosen for the wall. I've done this with Mylands eggshell, Atelier Ellis eggshell and Little Greene eggshell on the radiators in three rooms, and they've been fine.

Do not use Wilko radiator paint. It stank the whole house for weeks, and gave everyone a bloody headache. I had the radiator in for days to burn the fumes off.
