Hi

My living room is white and sage green chimney wall ( yes I know not fashionable/ dated, but we like it) the white is an FB all white.

On our walls it looks like a soft white/ pale cream with no yellow undertones. And we love the sage green colour.

However I now need to decide a third colour for cushions curtains rugs artwork etc to go with both colours and I’m not sure. Grey maybe? Our sofas are A very light beige so apart from one wall, all very neutral fresh and calming. But also a bit bland. it needs a splash of colour but I don’t like orange or bright reds. Any suggestions welcome. Especially for a rug.

Mustard yellow.

For rug I would go for natural jute one. it'll go nicely with the green.

For cushions you can go lavender colour, or blue? Or light pink, or darker green.
It all depends if you wanna complementary or opposite colour.

Yellows, oranges, soft reds.

Having said that, I prefer @rosiesroww's suggestions.

I agree with neutrals looking nice like the jute rug suggestion above. And I'd throw a rich navy blue colour in for curtains and cushions. Kinda like these colours (if I can attach images...), and I'd totally go with some gold too, but I like shiny and you may not!

Terracotta is the obvious contrasting colour to sage green - you're going opposite on the colour wheel - but I see you don't like red or orange so go complementary, which are colours either side, which would give you heather purple or lavender or rich blues like a french navy.

Zazzle is good for colour schemes - put your main colour in and it'll show you options.

I'd go natural Jute, rope rug, beige velvet and either navy accents or petrol for cushions. Velvet cushions in these colours can look really clean and soft.
Add in one oversized painting using matchpots, just create white background with some random brush stroke lines daubed around. Cheap canvas ready to paint online.

Thanks for suggestions everyone, I am intrigued with the jute rug idea have already been browsing them. Would never have thought of them as I would have considered them they a bit utilitarian for a living room. Have a cat though, so could be problematic with scratching

Pink and sage do go together nicely but DH not a fan of pink.

Love teal petrol colours . Wasn’t sure if would go well with a sage. Might consider those. Or maybe a darker emerald green, just didn’t want too much green or to matchy.

Our room previously had heather/ purple colours so we are moving away from that.

Lots to think about.
