Loaf Sofa?

Does anyone have a cuddle muffin sofa from loaf? I've tried it in store and liked the size but I'm now worried that the cushions look sloppy very quickly. If you have one, do they slope forward too much? Can you flip them over frquently to rearrange the filling and keep it looking neat?

My sofa and love seat are Oscar, which I've had for 3 years. The cushions do look quite sloppy and flat if I don't plump them up daily (only before visitors arrive mostly!). On my love seat, I was given a firmer replacement seat cushion after there was a problem, which I think is more comfy. I wish I'd have known this was an option when I when I was spending £££s- I'm disappointed that this wasn't discussed in the showroom. If I were you I'd definitely ask!

Thanks so much! What is the replacement cushion made from inside? Is it foam rather than feathers?

We've been looking for a sofa and fell in love with the Loaf sofas - until we got up from them and saw what was left behind - a big crumpled mess - the salesperson said it was because loads of people had sat on it - so she fluffed it up and the same thing happened again - then she said that sofa must have the new trial cushion and ours when we ordered it would be fine - finally she said some people love the crumpled look - I felt they were being a cheapskate and needed to stuff they cushions with more feather - they feel like air because they are 99% air after fluffing.

We have a loaf sofa and it need plumping up to look decent.

cloudwine · 23/01/2022 12:43

Trillio- the firmer cushion is filled with the same, but it's stuffed to the max! It's bloomin heavy to pick up and plump up as it's big, but it only needs it every couple of weeks or so and never actually goes flat or crumpled.

Hang on- I think it may actually have a foam layer in the centre and surrounded by feathers- sorry. I'm actually thinking of getting the sofa cushions replaced too. I'm getting fed up of plumping!

Or if you knew an upholsterer - they could stuff your cushions with more feather.

Lagerandcigars- 3 years of plumping and why on earth didn't I think of that?! Thank you Grin

Hi loaf owners. I'm looking at the Dixie which is a fixed seat and button back so no plumping.

Aside from the plumping has anyone got any other Loaf feedback? We are in a stale mate over choice of sofa and I'm pushing for Loaf which is about £1k more! If I win and then the sofa turns out to be rubbish I will never hear the end of it ......

Thanks for all the feedback so far. Just for interest, I spoke to loaf about their cushion fillings and was told that as of Nov 2021 they have changed the filling. It used to be feathers around a foam core. It is now 50% feather and 50% fibres from recycled plastics around the foam core. Apparently this makes it look better but I haven't seen it in person yet. We've taken the plunge and ordered a cuddlemuffin so time will tell if it was right choice!

Interesting - when I commented on a sofa that looked awful the assistant said it was one of the new cushions they were trialling - I would have taken it off the shop floor because no way would we buy one after one quick sit down it looked awful

We had a Dixie in Large. It always looked great, but we just didn't feel comfy sitting in the middle. You are sort of perching on top of rather than sitting on/in it, or tilting towards an arm. Our Dixie love seat is ok though. There was a manufacturing fault with the sofa, so we decided to switch it for the one with same buttoned back but with seat cushions (the name escapes me). It is much more comfortable. I agree with others that the cushions need regular plumping. It looks saggy after a sit.
SweatyUnderboob · 26/01/2022 19:15

Does anyone have a Wodge or a Squishmeister? Are they comfortable?

God I hate the names!

Went to a shack at the weekend and was thoroughly underwhelmed by how different and low they are in person. However, I have found the Direct Furniture outlet that sells the returns half price. Even still, it won't be worth it if they are uncomfortable.

This is such a helpful read.

Trying to get in before sale ends-actually like a Sofas and Stuff one-they do fixed cushions with velvet so wonder if that would help with the plumping etc?

Gemmy12341 · 13/07/2022 12:26

Hi Trillo
How are you getting on with your Cuddle Muffin sofa? I am very close to buying one but would love to hear your review with the "new filling".

Watching with interest too now. The foam and feather cushions I said were OK previously, are now definitely looking less than OK. So fed up as I thought I'd found a solution to all that plumping! 😥

JanePrentiss · 13/07/2022 20:37

Look at Collins and Hayes sofas, got ours from John Lewis about 17 years ago and they're going strong, can't fault them!
