Hey! Please help! I've not had any curtains or blinds up for ages Shock I've got a bay window with a radiator underneath so can't really have long curtains can I?! I have no idea what to get. We also have our back door to the garden in the living room so need something that would go with it. Our sofa and walls are a natural colour with dark wood shelving etc. I was thinking of greens. Unfortunately I haven't got the budget to have something made, we're on a tight budget. Your help would be so appreciated thanks as I think my window will be empty forever otherwise Blush

Plain Roman blinds? @tinyandthehouse on Instagram just has white roller ones, so you can block out the world at night but then the window is the feature in the day, not the blinds (see pic).

We have a radiator under our bay, and full-length curtains – but we’ve got other radiators in the room. Any possibility of moving the radiator?

IKEA. H&M, La Redoute, B&Q, French Connection and Zara all have long curtains you could hem. And Blinds2Go is pretty affordable for both curtains and plain white roller blinds.

Just seen your pic – I don’t think you could have full length with that windowsill anyway, unless you installed a curtain pole that came out far enough. And bay poles are spendy. I’d do cafe-length curtains to skim the windowsill – pencil pleat or gathered. The ready-made ones I mentioned above can just be hand-pleated with a pack of hooks. You can hem with iron-on tape if you’re not a sewer. But those windows are lovely! I’d be tempted by Roman or roller blinds, plain linen, to showcase the window.

I'd go for 3 Roman blinds in plain fabric (saves all the pattern matching when they're next to one another) - you'll also be able to operate them individually to block out the sun if that's an issue. No curtains required.

Something like this...

Roman or roller blinds and then fake curtains.

However, if you don’t have the budget for both blinds and curtains, it isn’t the case that if you have radiators under the windows you can’t have long curtains. Just pull them in the centre and drape them behind. Short curtains look very dated.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I'll have a look at all the suggestions. This kind of thing stupidly stresses me out x

Roller or Roman blinds - i think they look great without curtains

I had pale Roman blinds in a bay in my last place (similar to Rina) from blinds direct or somewhere like that - was v happy with the look
