Have black out roller and roman blinds (no curtains) in bedrooms as i like as dark as possible. Would like to add colour to walls and thinking of shutter blinds - yay or nay, tell me your pros and cons

They make a room much darker so depends what way your room faces and how bright it is. If the room could hold a dark colour go for it if not if go for curtains

I have them in two properties. Love them at home, but they contribute to condensation problems, so you have to open them properly now and again.

I have issues with them in my holiday property because guests don’t air them properly

We’ve inherited them. Imagine they were really expensive but they make rooms really dark, and also increase the echo. I’m not quite as keen to remove them as I was when we looked around the house, but I wouldn’t keep them forever.

An absolute dust trap and also very expensive.

Oh I’d forgotten the muck they accumulate too.

Love them, don’t get the muck trap comment.

Same here. Bought them for our old house and really liked them. Have now moved and will be having them again. They aren't cheap and you need to be certain you can live with them but we love them.

Love them! We have them in our reception rooms and they are gorgeous. And during the summer they keep the rooms lovely and cool.

Only problem is that they are expensive
