Bedroom and hallway colours/ideas

Have asked a decorator to quote me for my bedroom and hallway. He is coming tomorrow and I haven't a clue what I want done! But this is the best way for me just to make a decision and get it done.

These are the rooms.

Please hit me with ideas!

I thought about dark green panelling halfway up the back bedroom wall, with the rest a plain colour. I want a light beige/cream carpet. No grey!

Hallway - I want it to be cosy and welcoming. Considering Egyptian cotton?

Please help!

I should have mentioned, I am hoping to change the doors to panelled oak eventually.

My (adult) son has Egyptian cotton in his bedroom it's the perfect middle point of beige and grey. I'm thinking of doing the hallway in the same

Once I saw the tester, I changed my mind about EC and picked up Just Walnut instead, but it's much whiter than I expected. I'm coming round to it though. Will still try EC.

I've picked up a Johnstones Ivy Sky (dark green) tester for my bedroom, but the whole bedroom colour/furniture choice is really hard! No idea whether to go dark and deep, or calm and neutral.
