Curtain and Blind making business start up

Hi,
I'm starting a new business making curtains and blinds, plus soft furnishing and upholstery. I've put the 'word' out and I'm getting interest. I need to work out my charging/rates. Are there any curtain makers who'd like to share their formula? Is there a width x length of drop x £ way of calculating? Then plus 10% for heavier fabrics? Or is it a case of over the years you've got a good eye for knowing how long a job will take etc?

I'm based in an expensive part of the country near London so I don't need to be 'cheap' I just need to be competitive but not undersell myself.

It must depend on the price of the fabrics you offer? And if you’re just starting out, the price you have to pay for fabric may be significantly higher than the prices a big company who can afford to buy in bulk and keep fabric in stock would be paying for the same fabrics.
Sorry I’ve no experience in the industry at all but I know from trying to make clothes that the price of fabric can easily exceed the price of the ready-made mass produced garment.

The John Lewis website , the made-to-measure curtains section, has a price calculator, based on the size of curtains requested and the fabric chosen. You could use this (minus the cost of the fabric/linings) to get a rough estimate of how much they charge for making up.

Thanks for responses, the fabric would be in addition to my labour costs and I have already set up some trade accounts with fabric suppliers. Theses are for bespoke curtains so the customer will will choose the fabric and I'll order in for them.

I've seen the calculators on John Lewis and other sites, so it give me an idea. I expect I'll have to approach some other makers with a window measurement and get a quote.
