What could I do with my living room?

Hi, I moved into my home mid 2021. It's a brand new build. I love my neutral type decor but feel the room is missing something. Do not like the floors and want to cover them eventually. Does anyone have any ideas for what might look nice Smile I'm not really a bright colour person but like duck egg. Thank you! (Please ignore the tree- it's going tomorrow!)

A few ideas (looks very cosy already)!

Bigger pictures on the walls - those tiny ones look a bit lost.

I hate to say it as it looks new-ish and comfy, but your sofa is very dark and heavy in the room. I think you either need to embrace dark and paint some darker walls to tie in better with the sofa, or get a few more throws and brighter cushions on the sofa (or change the sofa??)

But for easier fixes; bigger paintings, some colour (duck egg throw and cushions could work but feels a bit dated), and I'd go for a more textured rug.

It looks a very nice room to snuggle up in though.

Oh and the pouffe is way too big (and dark), smaller nested tables or a smaller low coffee table would be much better.

I think it looks nice and cosy! For me I would change the curtains to hang both sides of the window, and maybe make them a warmer colour, have a few more colourful cushions, and some nice artwark, bigger than thecurrent pics. And a plant or three!

I like the neutral look. I think longer curtain poles with more generous, fuller curtains (still neutral coloured) hanging both sides of the window. The sofa does dominate because it is dark. So some more throws and brighter cushions, duck egg would work.

If you like duck egg paint it duck egg! That's the colour of my lounge. Would go fine with your floor and furniture.

I think the curtains could be thicker and fuller and would look more luxurious. Maybe change the cushions and throws, perhaps a different neutral colour for those to add interest and look at some different textures too.
More, bigger art on the walls to make more of a statement. Perhaps a more textured rug.

A definite yes to luxurious, full length curtains.

Brighter cushions; some patterned, some plain.

You could recover your footstool in the same patterned fabric used for cushions. (It isn't TOO difficult.)

The sofa looks messy because of the different colors of the cover and, use dark cushions cover for the perfect look.

I feel a new sofa perhaps a 2/3 seater and a cuddler chair would work better in a lighter colour?
The current sofa seems to cut off the room and is too dark.

I'd actual opt for Roman Blaine's with boxed pelmets for the windows as they're quite close together.

I think that the sofa with the poofe is domanating the room
. If you like the sofa I wd either remove the poofe and or decorate the walls a stronger colour so that the sofa does not stand out as much in the room.
If you keep the sofa i think you need more drama in the room such as a large large plant and a picture with more.impact.. at.the moment , the small pic s make rhe sofa look.dominant ?
