Designing a new kitchen

I have received helpful ideas and tips from fellow Mumsnetters about decorating and can really do with help regarding my kitchen.

In my dreams I would love to have a farmhouse kitchen complete with Aga and Lurchers! In reality I have a galley style one with only two windows for light. I am about to start from scratch and completely renew. Does anyone have ideas to help, please or dire warnings about wonderful ideas which just didnt't work. I cannot extend at all. Thank you.

Go to as many kitchen showrooms as you can - to get layout ideas and design tips. Even companies you’re unlikely to go with due to cost will still have ideas, particularly the cheaper end of the market (as they’re not making non-standard sizes they try and juggle what they offer to your space).
