I'm looking for a wallpaper but I don't "love" anything I see. I'm looking for something that will make my heart soar every time I look at it. I'm aware this sounds ridiculous!
The room is going to be pale grey (I'm not here for people telling me they dislike grey rooms. I know how much MN hates grey paint but the furniture is already paid for so no going back!). The fitted furniture is going to be dark grey and there will be a headboard, but between the headboard and the over-the-bed cupboards will be a tiny sliver where I'm hoping to put a lovely patterned wallpaper to incorporate a bit of colour.
I have come to the wisdom of MN in the hope that someone will come and show me a picture of the most beautiful wallpaper which will, in some way, match the grey (it can have the tiniest amount of grey on it, just so long as it fits in somehow). So, I suppose my question is that if you could pick any wallpaper in the world, what would you go for?

@flashpaper do you prefer flower designs, geometric, what's your style?

freshcarnation · 03/01/2022 17:40

Depends on your style. I like grey with white and gold so would look at something with those colours in if it were my room

freshcarnation · 03/01/2022 17:42

Like this,maybe

I like floral, DP likes geometric. There is very little we can agree on and nothing I want to do a full wall with, which is why I'd like to just do this tiny little section of the room with something we wouldn't necessarily have gone with. Using it as an opportunity to go "wild" without actually going wild!

I would go with something metallic - either silvery as a subtle accent or maybe copper and you can pick that out in other accessories?

(I have full on glitter above mine and my heart soars every time I see it - but it's a very specific taste!)

If you want wild OP , may I suggest the Lynx wallpaper.

So furniture dark grey and walls light grey? What about curtains/blinds?

I'd probably go for something with a dark background but incorporating a bit of drama or colour.

What about this?

is lovely too [[https://www.woodchipandmagnolia.co.uk/collections/shop-all-wallpaper-1/products/rivington-in-black]]

this is a bit more contemporary

or this is more graphic

They're exactly the sort of thing I'm after, thank you

I've never done a link before so this will probably not work but www.yourstylishhome.co.uk/christian-lacroix-nouveaux-mondes-mariposa-wallpaper-pcl666-02/p153391.html I lusted after this for 5 years. It looks amazing on the wall behind my bed. The rest of my bedroom walls are white with silver glitter.

I'm obsessed with the Lotus pattern at Farrow & Ball, and sad I've got nowhere in my home to put it. It comes in tonnes of colours, so you could choose so,etching that tied in, or contrasted.

I'm trying to decide if this is a geometric floral...

You get three drops in a box, so one box is expensive but probably one would be all you'd need.

Have you chosen yet OP?

This is my current lust (in the green/purple colourway, but for your purpose probably this metallic green option has a lot of silver in it to go with your grey but introduce some colour as well. You could then pick up that green elsewhere eg. cushion/throws.
