Bravery needed to revamp lounge

I'm fed up with my lounge.

Creamish walls (forget what the colour is called). Beige carpet. Sofas a sort of beige with mocha. I've got teal/duck egg cushions. Curtains are a lovely duck egg/teal and cream/gold and I'd like to keep those.

Am considering painting the walls a good blue that would tie it all in, but wondering if this will be overpowering.

Woodwork is currently varnished but I'd zinsser it all and paint it white.
It's a light room with windows on 2 sides but the ceilings are not high.

I'm old enough to have lived through a trend for strong colours before (and rather liked it) so am not averse, but don't want to make a big mistake!

There is an app called something like Dulux Visualizer. If you use it, you choose a colour, and point the camera at your walls. It then shows you your walls coloured in with your choice. I find it quite useful in helping to choose wall colours.
