The room was an office. It is now to be my son's bedroom (he is 10yo). I have no idea where to start Sad I am not good at this, but I hope you wonderful designers are all able to offer advice Smile

I have attached a very badly drawn room plan.

When you first enter the room, opposite is computer table. Next to the computer table is a TV stand. Next to the TV stand are two filling cabinets. Next to the door is a bookcase. Next to the bookcase is a desk.

The room length is 264cm and the width is 231cm.

The only item that needs to stay in the room is the bookcase. We would also like a desk, but this can be a different one. We also need a single bed in the room.

There doesn't need to be clothing storage as that can be in a different room, but if you can fit in a chest of drawers that would be useful :)

Thank you so much in advance. Your advice will be very much appreciated :)

Why don't you get a bunk bed with desk underneath with storage. It means he will have more room to play and do stuff. Also clear out the junk cupboard and let him have his clothes in there. I'm a real advocate that if possible a child's space should be theirs and they shouldn't have to go into other rooms for clothes and their belongings etc....

I would try the bed under the window with bedside table next to it (or low chest of drawers used as a bedside table).
Have desk on the left wall and maybe get rid of the junk and use the cupboard as a wardrobe?

Bookcase on the short wall next to the cupboard and close to the desk.
TV unit and filing cabinets moved out.

Thank you everyone for your helpful advice :)

I agree we really must clear out the junk cupboard.

i'd put a v simple low bed in front of the window with the bookshelf at the end of the bed (b in picture). you won't be able to access the bottom shelf but that might not matter. It is the most efficient way to fit things in. Then keep the desk & chair for school work (d in picture) and a small bedside table (t). That leaves a big space for a nice rug and a beanbag (blob with *) in the rest of the room.

and definitely clean out the junk cupboard so you can use that for clothes storage etc.
