Fabric for blinds

I want blinds, not curtains for my living room. The wall colour is f&b cornforth white with joinery in our beck stone. We have f&b helleborus wallpaper in churlish green on ammonite, which is very subtle and deep teal/green velvet sofas. I have art with floral and woodland motifs, mainly hellebores/magnolias/oak.

I can't decide whether to go pattered or plain for a blind. Have seen some nice prints but worry I will regret not going for something more neutral, maybe with an interesting trim. Also like a grey ikat but worried it doesn't really fit.

Can anyone advise?

I’m not a design guru but I’d probably go plain with trim because of the wallpaper. I don’t think it’s the kind of print to do deliberately clashing fabric with, but someone who knows better may correct me Smile

Ps it’s a lovely room

What type of blinds are you thinking of? I would go for a neutral plain with a border in contrasting colour if you think you would get fed up with a pattern.

I'm thinking Roman blinds. Yes plain with a border is what I am leaning towards

I would prob go for blinds in a stone colour with the green from the wallpaper as a contrast or even the mauve colour from your picture or if you are feeling bold the teal colour of the sofa. I make curtains and blinds etc for a living and love roman blinds with a contrasting border at bottom :).

I'd go for something with these colours

I love that purple pinecone and the sienna coloured leaf
Would pull the room together

Oh yes a contrasting border is an excellent suggestion! Good idea re the pinecone

If you get your roman blinds interlined they will look really luxurious.

I've got roma kintore. Had blinds in the same fabric but different colour ways in my old place too.

it's a really nice heavy textured weave with a slightly stubby look for visual interest. Has polyester in it so there is a bit of sheen too.

I really like it. Comes in loads of colours... I've got a fabulous bright pink in my bedroom that has sadly been discontinued. The living room is much more neutral colour...
