Are dark velvet sofas fluff magnets?

Choosing a Loaf sofa, very much like Clever Velvet in Liquorice ( dark blue/almost black) but the sample is covered in annoying bits of fluff that it has picked up from the other fabrics in the box and me holding it against things to colour check

Will I regret a velvet sofa?

For context 3 year old child, no pets, not keen on cleaning or high maintenance furniture :-)

I don’t think it should put you off but they do gather ‘bits’. I wouldn’t call it fluff, now that I think about it.

Mine is dark olive green and I run the little hoover brush over it every week or so.

I wouldn't get velvet with a 3yo!

We have a really great hard wearing velvet (it's still very soft) which is stain resistant.

It does get a bit of fluff but very easy to hoover or even wipe with a damp cloth. Ours still looks great 4 years later.

We have dark blue velvet with a cat and baby/9year old and I’ve no regrets. Cat hair is easy to hoover off and haven’t noticed masses of fluff stuck to it

This is sounding very positive thank you!

Loaf calls it 'clever velvet' so it is supposed to be easy clean, stain resistant and you can scrub it/rub it to get jam off :-) It was just the fluff bit that worried me!

Ours doesn’t get fluffy but it does get annoying marks from the dogs slobber. They come off easily with a damp cloth but it is a bit frustrating

We have a lighter coloured velvet sofa, light moss green, and use a tape roller thingy. Works a treat.
