...To go in an grown up room in a Victorian house.

The new ones all look very meh, and I can't do something to upcycle due to pregnancy I won't use paints etc. Please show me what you've got and tell me where it came from?

Bonus points for something that won't trap fingers!

I absolutely love this www.cambridgesatchel.com/products/the-treasure-trunk-navy
I'd like to source a vintage trunk and then line it with treasure maps.

In reality I use ikea trofast because it's easy to pull out sets of toys.

@Modestandatinybitsexy Oh yes I quite like the trunks, maybe a little above budget.
I've looked at some second hand ones but most are quite grimey (undertandably!) and I'm not sire on if they'd clean up.

Something like this wicker basket

Not what you've asked, but I really wouldn't get a big toy box. They look lovely, but are very impractical, as small toys just get lost in there and it's all a jumbled mess. I'd recommend an IKEA kallax, or even a small bookcase with some baskets.

I used a big wicker hamper but would get something like ikea trofast if I had to do it again

Those foldable Ottoman storage boxes are good and come in a variety of designs.
