Curtain hook.

There are a lot of different sizes and shapes, btw.
I suggest taking one into a hardware shop, to compare with the ones on sale, to make sure you get the right ones.
Unless you are sure of the make & size of your curtain rail.

I actually just want to replace the curtains with ready-made full length ones.

So I guess my next question to you nice people is “What do you call the kind of curtains where they connect to the rail via gliders?”

Pencil pleat or pinch pleat. Any type of header except eyelet curtains really.

Thank you Dbaki

If I measure along the bottom of the existing curtains and times by 2 does the give me width? Or do I have to measure the rail instead?

@seethesuninwintertime

(Sorry so basic!)
‘A total fucker that is almost impossible to match the exact size that the bloody previous owner installed.’

In my experience, anyway… glares balefully at curtains as yet another glider snaps and I can’t source one to replace it.

Measure the rail.

Then measure the drop.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 21/11/2021 21:20

Are you pleased with the fullness of the existing curtains? If so then just measure them (ungathered) and order the same width in whatever drop you want.

If you feel they are skimpy then go wider. Bear in mind though if you go very wide for very full, very gathered curtains they may obscure a good deal of window unless your rail is a fair bit wider than the actual window, particularly if it is a heftier fabric.

Thank you
