Cushion help needed desperately!

I'm having a right meltdown trying to buy cushions for my living room...

It's west facing, painted in F&B downpipe, has a lovely heriz print Persian carpet with red tones dominant but a mix of cream, green/blue and orange in there. The sofas (a two seater and a three seater) are a cream fabric and there's an off white soft Roman blind on the window. What cushions - colours & patterns would you go for?

I'm trying not to go too matchy-matchy, aiming for sort of eclectic Studio Peake pattern layering but it's doing my head in. Had to post back five cushions today 🙈.

Pick out the colours in the rug.
And think about texture. I'd suggest stone colours, a washed out red and a darker red. I'd also mix patterns, so how about a dark red and stone striped cushion? Different sizes and textures.

These are expensive ( and they are ) but may be one or two and some plainer ones to go with ?

You've probably got decision fatigue.

Either choose now because they are only cushions and therefore it doesn't matter, or wait a week or so.

Those William Yeoward Alicia cushions are really versatile but chic. Just buy a green/red one of those.

You’re wildly overthinking. Cushions are a nice thing to get as you see them (or get them made up from fabric you like) and build a collection. In the meantime just buy some cheapies from H&M home and replace them as you fall in love with individual other ones.

Also, don’t worry about the colour scheme too much. If you truly love something then it will work in the room because the unifying fab toe will be your own taste.

I've a very similar rug and similar sofas. I was worried red cushions on cream sofa would look dated so I picked out other colours from the rug in a mush mash of textures and patterns.

So I have a muted green linen, a muted blue wool/felt, some lovely abstract patterned ones from Heals and OKA (both with red piping which works a treat).

Like others have said, start with a couple of plain in the right colour way and add mire as you find them.

Don't try to match the vibe of the rug, it's called 'eclectic' for a reason!

It's a lovely room and the grey looks great with that rug. I deffo think you should pick out the other colour/s from the rug. Do you have Pinterest? If you search 'downpipe lounge' you will get some colour ideas, this one looks similar, I think the blue accessories look nice. Lastly, tkmaxx and homesense always have loads of gorgeous cushions. Post a pic of what you end up with?
