Neutral or grey?

For a new sofa? I can’t decide.
I know they’re both pretty unadventurous but we’ll hopefully have them for years so if I go with quite a plain colour at least I can change accessories from time to time.
I’m a bit concerned that grey has been overdone and is going out of style but it is slightly more practical because darker. Natural colour is nice and light but also a bit boring. Also I’ve had similar in past.
Or is there another colour I should consider?

Show us the room! And the sofa style.

Not grey. You can change accessories even if you go for YELLOW or PINK. There’s no law.

Oh God not grey. It's the coldest, most miserable colour. When will it end? Grey EVERYWHERE.

grey is so over.

Grey isn't over :) its it's a color. They don't expire. People come along and tell us we must throw away our old "out of fashion" things, and buy new things in the color that they have told us that we now like. Colours and styles being "in", just means decorating your home in someone else's preferred way.

So I say choose whichever one you like best, even if others think it's boring. Whatever is practical for your lifestyle, good quality, and pleasing to YOUR eye.

But yes, between grey and neutral, I'd possibly go with gray, because I have grubby kids that need a colour more tolerant of their marks..! (And I actually don't mind gray! Shock.)

I quite like teal or navy with light walls so the rooms not too dark

thechaseison · 13/11/2021 20:21

Navy! Any colour accessories go with it

CoolShoeshine · 13/11/2021 20:40

Not keen on navy, not because I dislike it but because my kitchen is navy and I have a blue sofa in there. I also love green but can’t see a green sofa I like.
This was the sort of look I was going for in grey - I’m still leaning towards that colour even though nervous about it dating.

We've just bought a pair of green chesterfields from Shawcross Furniture. Very pleased with quality.
