Tall people! Where’s your sofa from?

Hoping the hive mind can cut down on what could be an endless trip around sofa shops, which will just destroy my soul. We’ve always made do with whatever sofas we’ve managed to get secondhand but are finally in a position to buy a decent one. The problem is that my DH is very tall at 6’5 with long legs and he’s often struggled to get comfy. Where should we be looking? I don’t really mind the style but preferably I’d like it to look nice, I prefer fabric to leather and one with a decent amount of room underneath as the room has been prone to damp on the wall where it will be (sorted now but I’d rather keep as much airflow as possible). My thoughts are a trip to IKEA to check out what they have for what seems to be quite decent prices, and maybe John Lewis to compare. Ive never set foot in an actual sofa shop in my life.

We have the Ikea Stockholm (in leather but I think you can get it in fabric too). It’s the depth that we struggled with previously, so this works as it’s nice and deep! Husband is 6’1. Hth!

You need depth. We are both over 6 foot.

We got ours from Sofa Workshop but I think the depth is 100cm and that makes it so much more comfortable.

Ours is fabric and from Next. It's the best sofa either of us have ever had. I'm tall and my clown feet don't reach the end of the chaise bit. Partner and I fight over who gets to sit there, but the rest of it is deep and tall enough to be comfy, too.

Def go and check out as many as you can in person. M&S do deep ones. Kick off your shoes and see what it's like to curl up.

My DH is the same height as yours and we got our sofa last year from DFS. It’s got great depth and quite big if you have the space. For reference I’m just over 5 foot and my feet barely hang off the edge.

We have this in a 3 seater and 2 seater, DP same height as yours. Were obsessed, it's beyond comfortable

@Temple29 I like that, we have no room for a corner sofa though, but I’ll definitely check out similar styles. @Yahyahs22 that’s quite similar to what we’re replacing and tbh I hate it. Comfy but really not my style at all, and it got damp inside without us realising I know DH loves the recliner though
