Just moved to a new house, had carpets cleaned but they will need replacing in The lounge. It's a high traffic area (you have to walk through it to get to the stairs, kitchen and conservatory) plus it's about 29ft long so I want something hard-wearing but will look nice with taupe walls and a greeny blue sofa and chairs and walnut wooden furniture. Pic attached from old house to give you idea, where we had dark wood floors, but this new house does not benefit from a Victorian ceiling height so concerned a dark brown carpet might be too dark, make a long room look narrow (it's not, it's about 13ft wide)? 🤔 Any suggestions?
