Double beds

I'm buying DD's double beds when we move. Do people buy double duvets to dress the beds? Lots of pics have what looks like king size - duvets drapped with lovely soft cushions.

Where do I start?

King size duvet set for double bed. It makes a massive difference

Ok - is that why all the pictures in magazines look so luxurious?!

We have a king duvet on a double bed and it's amazing. It made such a difference to sleep quality.

I use king duvets on double beds.

I go up a size, so would put a kingsize on a double. (But for you don’t children I put a single on a single!)

Oops, should proof read, I don’t upsize for young children - they have a single on a single!

Dh and I have a king size on a double bed but dcs have a double on theirs, they don't like a king size as it's too big to fling around.

Thanks everyone!
I suppose now is a good time to ask about pillows?!

I have 4 on my king size bed but my bed is never 'dressed' prettily at all.

Are yours like beautiful beds from the magazines?!

Try Instagram for ideas - there are loads of home accounts with bed photos. I think a lot of them do 4 normal pillows, 2 larger square type pillows you sometimes see in hotels plus at least 3 large cushions, which should be feather-filled to create the 'chopped' look that's popular now.

Personally, I have 4 normal pillows and 3 plumped cushions, plus a throw. We have a low headboard though so the larger, square cushions wouldn't look right.
