We are moving soon and this is the family room, we are trying to decide what to do about sofas. the current owners have offered us their leather corner sofa and chair for £300 but I don’t love them, however with two kids and a dog it may be the most practical/cheap option if I can beautify it with throws and pillows etc. I am worried though that throws will slide around all over the place and am considering an IKEA corner sofa or two 3-seaters instead. WWYD? Note we will have our existing sofas in the main living room so this is mainly for lounging and watching telly etc.

Not a fan and imagine it would be very slippy with throws yes.

Personally, I can't get along with throws on leather sofas. They're too slippy and need adjusted all the time. If you dislike it enough to need to cover it up, I'd be inclined to say no. My mum gave us a leather sofa for our shed summer house. It's in great condition but not my taste. I have tried a throw, but nobody wants to sit on it. We're about to replace it with a fabric sofa from IKEA!

If you don’t like them, why pay £300 for something you don’t like? Will be a waste of money-get a cheapo one from IKEA or a decent second hand/ex display sofa.

It's quite dated!

Not keen. I would go away from a corner there and have two sofas. More versatile you can move them around

Thank you all!! Off to IKEA I go…

I agree, don’t buy something you don’t like!
And from that picture you could definitely get 2 separate sofas or a corner one.
I’ve got to stop buying things for my new house so I’ll need to live vicariously through you Grin
