Lay-z spa clip safety

Hi there

I have a 2 and a half year old and thinking of buying a lazy spa. Does anyone know how child proof the clips are and if a child would be able to undo them / lift the cover?

Tried to have a look in the local b&q but there were no covers on display.

Thanks

I have a different brand but the clips need 2 hands, you have to squeeze and then lift if that makes sense. It’s not easy and I don’t think a 2 year old could do it

Here's a picture of a Lay Z spa clip. You have to squeeze in the two tabs at the side and press in the tab at the top before pulling. It's a two-handed job for an adult!

They will be able to do it eventually though. Could you fence off the area for extra safety?

I have a hot tub at a holiday let. The clips have a little lock on them (tbh a very simple one that can be opened with a screw driver) and you may be able to specify such locks for the Lay-z spa. This is the sort of thing I’m talking about: www.happyhottubs.co.uk/happy-hot-tubs-replacement-cover-locks-keys?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0Kiezujx8wIVo4BQBh1v4AwOEAQYAyABEgKcf_D_BwE

I struggle with the clips on ours.
Neither our 10yo or 8yo can undo them.
