Bath panel - gloss or matt?

I need to replace my existing bath panel and didn't realise there were two different finishes.

Which is better for a bathroom tiled with matt tiles please?

I would personally go for a matt finish.

Thanks for your reply, Would you mind saying why you think gloss is better/nicer?

I think matt is more on trend and as your tiles are matt, I think it would marry up nicely. I also this matt would mask dirt/grime/finger marks etc much better than gloss which might be a factor if you have a busy lifestyle.

We have just renovated bathroom and used tiles on bath panel.

Gloss shows up dirt, watermarks etc more and takes a lot more maintenance to keep it glossy. I'd go matt

Fingerprints - I didn't even think of that.

Would gloss make it look brighter and 'modern' (I can't think of a better word). I've only ever had matt previously.

Our en suite has gloss tiles Irushed decision as tiler was ready sooner than I expected) and I immediately regretted the tiles but now I prefer them over the other bathroom tiles.

I want the tiles and bath panels to 'belong' together though.

Its really hard to know as I don't really know what I'm comparing. I don't think I've ever seen a gloss panel and the local bathroom suppliers don't keep panels in stock. They all have to be ordered in.

Yes, gloss would be reflective so would help to bounce the light around the room. Maybe have a browse on Pinterest for inspiration?

I would go matt - even if tiles are glossy the contrast of texture may look nice & definitely agree with fingerprints on gloss.

The tiles are matt so would gloss look better?

I wish I could see them in real life to get an idea of how glossy they really are.

@Dancingonmoonlight - sorry - misread your post - I misread ensuite tiles for bathroom tiles - I think I would go matt anyway as long as easy to clean ( I have done a matt bath panel and it looks smart and is easy to clean ) I think if a panel the texture / difference from tiles will still work. I have some gloss cupboards and in the light - Oh my goodness how you can see drips or fingerprints.

I suspect it will look nice anyway so I would not worry too much - just pick one

Just don't tile in the whole bath - made that mistake once - never again Grin

I wish you well Flowers
