Where do you get a nice rug from?

I don’t want to pay a million pounds.
I don’t want a shaggy acrylic hoover killer.
It needs to be quite big, probably 2x1.5m
Neutral colours maybe oatmeal/beige/cream.

Ordered a rug recently from kukoon, it's based in N.I., loads of lovely designs for good prices and fast shipping.

Have you got a big TK Maxx/Home Sense store near you?

brakespeare · 17/10/2021 17:25

Kukoon

Hopespring · 17/10/2021 17:30

Mine is from Wayfair. They had lots of sizes and choice and I am very happy with it.

John Lewis.

I've recently ordered one from ruggable - Best Buy is they are machine washable.

Lots of different colours / styles

Most of our rugs are vintage/antique wool and came from eBay, but recently we wanted something with a more current colour scheme. We it really hard to find exactly what we wanted at all the usual suspects - especially as we needed an extra large size - but eventually located the perfect rug at irugs. They ship from the US, but our purchase arrived here in the UK within a week and we're really pleased with it 😆

Weaver Green do great rugs and they're environmentally sound too. La Redoute are a bit ubiquitous but have some very nice styles. Otherwise some good suggestions above. Try Benuta as well.

I’ve got mine from Amazon but there are lots of nice ones in Dunelm and John Lewis, depends what style you are after.

Another vote for Dunelm. Surprisingly affordable, hard wearing, good quality and huge range. I like to talk about my new living room rug a lot. I'll try to contain myself.

I also bought a rug from irugs.co.uk - and wish I'd read the reviews first.

I thought I was dealing with a UK based company - but the rugs are shipped from US. It was 5m x 4m and folded so much they could almost post it through the letterbox! Confused The plastic covering was covered in some type of oil too.
It was so crumpled and ridged it would have taken months, if ever, for the rug to flatten.

After a lot of emails and hassle it cost £54 to ship it back to them and another month of chasing to get the refund.

I'm still looking!

Hebeee · 21/10/2021 18:13

That's awful, @bigfelephantom ☹️

Ours is a similar size (very slightly smaller than your 5 x 4m) and also arrived folded (still a fairly large package though and no oil, thankfully!), so was creased initially. I contacted irugs about this and they offered me the option to return or take a partial refund. I took the refund and tbh, the creases fell out within a couple of weeks.

I did read the online reviews ahead of purchase which did concern me somewhat, but also know people IRL who have been happy with their purchases from irugs, so was prepared to proceed/take a risk as the colours were perfect for our - very picky, lol - requirements.

I guess some buyers are more fortunate than others and for once I was one of the lucky ones.
