Painting a metal object—advice please

I’ve been given a decorative object that is made from shiny stainless steel. I like the object but don’t like the metal finish and would like to paint it in a bronze or gold metallic paint that will have a smooth finish (no brush marks) and will stand up to being wiped clean now and then with a damp cloth. Can anyone recommend a paint product that will give such a finish—maybe a spray on thing?

Funny, I've just been googling radiator paint and Hammerite got the best Budget Option. It comes in a 17 colours.

I’ve used these a few times. Do it outside.cover the surrounding ground to prevent paint getting anywhere you don’t want it.

Shake the can like crazy before you start. Don’t spray it too close. As it could ‘pool’ and ‘run’.

Have sprayed most things Christmas
