Hello,
I am stuck about what colour rug to buy for the living room. We have blush pink walls, light green curtains and a cream sofa (at the whiter end of cream rather than the yellow end).
We also have a mid to dark grey laminate floor, that we don't like (new house) but can't afford to change right now.
What colour rug should we go for? Pink, green, or neutral? I had kind of assumed pink would be too much so was thinking I'd look for green or neutral but DH reckons the neutral ones I've picked out online would get lost against the grey floor (I don't it tbh but he is adamant) and my friend has started banging on about it throwing out the 60/30/10 rule if we get a green one. She reckons it's match the rug to either the walls or the sofa but never the curtains 
So, help me out please mumsnetters! I was unaware of the 60/30/10 rule but now I live in fear of being forever regarded as a person of poor taste
