Shutters or Blinds for a Bay Window

I live in a 1920’s semi with a large bay window. I’m after a solution since we had to sadly have a tree that was becoming too large cut down on the front drive, it was blocking the pavement, light and roots were pushing up the drive.

I want something in the bottom half of the windows for privacy and have thought about shutters either full or cafe but have now seen these upside down blinds where you pull them up from the bottom.

Has anyone had either the shutters or blinds and what do you think in terms of ease of fitting, how to keep clean and overall look.

Thanks

Shutters< always shutters. I love ours.

Sorry, I didn’t answer your last questions shutters are easy to fit and to clean. IMO they look great and finish windows off beautifully. They look much better than blinds and are much easier to clean because the slats are rigid.

We have shutters left by previous owner and I hate them. Total pain to clean (they are very dusty from building work) and take loads of light from the room and look very samey as everyone has them. I would go blinds. I want to get rid of ours but in winter they do help with heat retention in our cold house.

Thanks everyone , some food for thought, we looked at windows on our evening walk It’s looking like we will go with venetian blinds.
