Hi
We will be redecorating our lounge soon and planning on a teal & tan colour scheme ie; teal walls and tan leather armchairs. We have a natural wood floor and white pvc windows as well as a dark/black & steel traditional fireplace. My question is what colour radiator should we go for? We would like a traditional cast iron freestanding/floor mounted radiator but not sure whether anthracite or white would look better with the rest of the colour scheme and features?

Examples of colour and radiator:

Any thoughts or suggestions would be great.

For me that pic is showing a pale blue kitchen...

I have brown leather sofas, teal curtains (and some teal in the large rug). My walls and radiators are white. But my wooden fireplace surround is painted a vivid mustard colour! It goes surprisingly well with the teal.

Teal really well with burnt orange.

I would go for a white radiator so the fireplace would remain as the main focus point.

FindingMeno · 21/09/2021 18:26

Ooo anthracite would be very stylish!

lazy linguist I suppose you could call it blue or dark duck egg but it's called Aegean Teal and I also like a Dulux Heritage shade called Maritime Teal

Think this colour of leather?

So one vote for white radiator and one for anthracite. Any more?

If it’s a dark teal, then the dark radiator. If it’s a lighter teal, then white might be better.
Unless you can paint the radiator the same as the walls?

altiara · 21/09/2021 21:39

Either sounds good - sorry 😳

amter · 21/09/2021 21:45

white, matching the skirting and the windows.

JaninaDuszejko · 21/09/2021 21:48

Teal to match the walls unless it is a very pretty radiator.

LittleWingSoul · 24/09/2021 20:43

Anthracite! To match the fire place. That's what we have and I love it.

LittleWingSoul · 24/09/2021 20:44

Our walls are denim drift but we have varying shades of blue around the house, the anthracite looks really nice with darkest inkiest blues, as well.

Bluesheep8 · 26/09/2021 07:51

I think paint it to match the walls tbh.

Palavah · 26/09/2021 07:54

Yep, paint to match the walls.

The only way a white radiator will keep the focus on the fireplace is if the walls are also white or nearly so.

You could do a radiator cover if you don't want to paint the radiator itself

Noshowwithoutpunch · 26/09/2021 08:01

Anthracite. Definitely.

olympicsrock · 26/09/2021 08:04

I would go anthracite

So...we've decided on bronze instead! Thanks for all opinions though Smile
