Getting a sticky label off a bottle

How do I get the label off a wine bottle without leaving sticky glue on it ?

If it won’t come of with fairy liquid and a sponge you could try cotton wool and nail varnish remover.

Soak in hot water. Then scrub with WD-40.

Alcohol gel or hand sanitiser with a magic sponge

Soak it, then scrub it, then soak again, and scrub with washing up liquid.
Some come off just fine, some never seem to come off - although its the glue from the plasticky labels I struggle with

Washing up bowl of hot water. Fill wine bottle so it sinks in bowl. Heat will lift label off or at least soften it so you can peel off. Any remaining glue I'd probably use a bit of alcoholic hand gel on a cloth to remove.

I would go for nail varnish remover too.

Hairspray

I've heard peanut butter, I think it's the oil? Maybe try slathering it on and leaving it for a while.

Soak in hot water for 15 minutes or so and then hopefully peel off the outer paper layer. Then spray with WD40 to soak the glue, this should then rub off easily with a cloth or kitchen towel.

Cif gets it off really easily

Elbow Grease spray detergent left to soak gets sticky stuff off really well.

Sticky Stuff Remover or WD40.

Sticky Stuff Remover - fabulous stuff.

Mayonnaise or salad cream - smear it on and leave for an hour or so, then scrape with a plastic implement.

Vodka or tequila

White spirit. Dissolves the gum.

Another vote for Sticky Stuff remover.

Vaseline.
