I was considering blinds but then thought about velvet curtains to make the room warmer. What length would you go for? I'm thinking short but is longer to the floor fashionable now? I have no idea

As you have a radiator under your window, I'd consider a blind and the floor curtains as window dressing.

I think that's look nice, yes.

I don't have advice but just wanted to say that the room looks beautiful. I love the colours, floor, fireplace and light shade.

No idea what's fashionable but I would stay short and not cover the radiator.

With similar windows we have horizontal wooden style blinds (white) and to the floor curtains as dressing. Personally think floor length is both needed and looks better. We have this in all the rooms but some still close the curtains and it is fine. What helps is having thinner curtains as agree with PP, welvet ones pulled across the radiator might not work

Thank you @DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy , I've only just checked back and seen this now. Appreciate the comments, I'm currently looking for floor length curtains and I've decided on a pattern of some kind rather than plain. It's a big drop though (260 cm) and I'm a bit Shockat prices

We got 300(ish) drop curtains from Ikea and Dunhelm quite cheaply! You can add lining if needed- this was way cheaper than Next, JLewis etc

Definitely curtains to the floor... but because of the radiator roman blinds or shutters

Something like this in extra puffy Roman blinds or curtains but you'll be paying ££££££

If the radiator is below the window we always used ti have curtain long enough to tuck behind the radiator when drawn - so the heat comes into the room not straight out the window.
