Mugs / coffee cups

We have a Denby dinner set and matching mugs, smaller coffee cups and teapot, milk pot. But we have just had a new kitchen and can't decide on colours and more than half our Denby mugs are chipped.

Now we can finally start inviting people over and we almost have a finished kitchen and have horrible chipped mugs !

we can't decide on colour schemes and I wanted to use my Tesco club card vouchers to buy a new dinner set and mugs, but my husband is fed up of paying so much for denby and having chipped mugs so wants a cheaper set.

Do people have matching mugs to their dinner sets or do you go for something completely different?

And any ideas of nice mug sets? We drink a lot of coffee machine coffee so usually use smaller mugs not big mugs unless for tea?
I am tending towards a retro style or the loaf mugs.

Love those Loaf mugs, but I'd be worried about that level of glaze in the dishwasher......

We've got far too many Emma Bridgewater mugs...... but I like that they're all different patterns, and they seem to endure the dishwasher fairly well.

I was going to suggest Emma Bridgewater like PP! You can get half pint mugs / pint mugs / small mugs to suit the size you'd need. We have an eclectic collection and love it, then also about 12 le creuset mugs we use for workmen etc as I'm not as precious with them.

I don't have matching for our dinner set. I have seen some similar to the Loaf ones on Dunelm and also was admiring some on John Lewis last week. To be honest I've also always got nice ones from Sainsburys too!

I'm slightly obsessed with these and have a few in different colours and sizes:

However, I also have nice, much cheaper, more contemporary/trendy mugs from Tesco/Sainsburys.

Look out for Denby in charity shops. One of the shops local to me has things for £3 or less sometimes

I got two mugs for £1 each. Love them but they are 'for best'

That was in a different charity shop, and I'd gone there to take things in. left with two mugs that had I paid full price would have been £37.
