Hi all,
Id be very grateful for some help. My sitting room is in off white and pale blue with a mix of dark wood and off white furniture. Id like to add some fleecy or heavy throws and pillows to help it feel more snug as the colder weather comes in. Im struggling to find nice throws in the right pale blue, and Im not sure if I want cream. What other colour could I add that wont clash but will look christmassy? I was wondering about gold but it may be too strong against the other pale colours? Im not too fussed by grey or silver, unless its a very nice silver and not shiny. Any ideas?

Do you know what colour the pale blue paint is? I’m usually good at this but having a mind blank at the moment!

And are you aiming for modern, contemporary, country, or rustic look?

Row1n · 13/09/2021 18:23

Oh yes good point! Im going for a classic country look (ie not shabby chic) The paint is Dulux Cape Cod

I have similar colours and have gone with sand coloured accessories.

I would also be heading towards more sandy or beige, natural looking accessories. I know you said you don’t like cream but you could stay away from the yellow tones. For me winter decor is as much about textures as colour. So chunky cable knits, soft tartans, realistic faux fur.

Oh yes perfect @SingingWaffleDoggy thank you. I agree about textures completely. Actually I have a lamp shade in there that is a natural pale sandy type colour!

I'd go with dark, rich red.

Row1n · 14/09/2021 14:10

Do you think that would go well @UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername? I had thought of that at one point as it had been our xmas theme in a previous house so it would go well with our decs, but then I pretty quickly decided it wouldnt go. I might take something deep red out and try it in the room, it would certainly be very Christmassy!

Dark blue, ochre, grey, deep pink, rust/orange. Any of those would work if the tone was right.

Row1n · 14/09/2021 16:44

Thanks @mewkins I think I'l have to get some swatches and play around a bit. Like @SingingWaffleDoggy I'm normally good at this but have just had a blank with this room!
