Dd wants a (fake) flower wall in her bedroom. Any suggestions for how to do this? Can you buy whole hanging flower sheets? Otherwise no idea how you would stick them to the wall other than elaborate contraptions of nets and poking them through.

How much are you prepared to pay?!

Thank you. That one is printed though. Dd wants 3D actual fake flowers

?
The ones I linked to are panels of 3D fake flowers.

sjxoxo · 12/09/2021 21:38

If you are creative you could do this yourself but I do think it will be pricey to do a complete flower wall with just the flower heads on show.. even if you made a chicken wire framework and then covered it with fake flowers you would need hundreds!
I found a couple of alternatives… you could do these yourself (she could create them with you easily!) & I think this would be a way cheaper alternative & still very cute. Xo

I have an idea, it's a bit far out ... what about using fake grass, sticking it to the wall (maybe in a panel) and threading flowers through? I'll get my coat... 😉

Yellow85 · 12/09/2021 21:43

I have these. I bought 4 and they clip together. I just used small panel pins in the corners to fix to the walls.

I make these for weddings but I use paper stock instead of artificial plasticky ones as it looks more realistic. Depending on what your daughter wants and what you're prepared to spend - (you can get pretty cheap flower wall panels online but they can look quite tacky.) The more you spend the better quality you will get, as with most things in life

Stacey SOLIMAN just did this for her nursery, I think it looks lovely, you buy something like these panels.

Saying "no, it's not affordable / practical" is also an option. Unless you're prepared to throw money at it, it won't look like whatever she's seen online - does she understand that?

It just sounds like a massive grotty dust trap if it is planned as a permanent feature as opposed to a party decoration.

I bet spiders would love those too.

Lol. You sound weirdly bitter, like how dare she want a flower wall 😂
GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 12/09/2021 22:20

IKEA do these www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/fejka-artificial-plant-wall-mounted-in-outdoor-green-10365419/ and then you could add artificial flowers to it?

CorpusCallosum · 12/09/2021 22:23

Is she sure she wants a dusty wall full of hiding spiders in her room? Do you want that for her?! 😵‍💫

The ideas @sjxoxo linked above are far superior IMO.

marioduck · 12/09/2021 23:07

Bitter? I really can't get that excited over whether somebody I don't know and will never meet decides to have one of these or not. Confused

More like I was admiring some mighty spiderwebs between the flowers outside earlier, so that's the association in my mind looking at some of these images.

GoldStarAngel · 13/09/2021 09:17

Stop it with the spiders!!!

Thank you for all the suggestions though. Will take a look.

Sorry @Scarby9 I must have been looking at wrong thing

I'd have a look at some wall murals on wayfair.

Our house is naturally quite dusty and a flower wall would be a nightmare to keep clean.

TeamRick · 13/09/2021 20:01

What about trellis with leaves & flowers? That would be easy to put up.

tywysoges · 13/09/2021 20:11

Argos sells something called “flower wall tile” I think.

tywysoges · 13/09/2021 20:15

link

But it doesn’t look to hard to make to be honest, just need a frame, artificial flowers and a hot glue gun Grin

tywysoges · 13/09/2021 20:15

*too hard

GoldStarAngel · 13/09/2021 23:08

@tywysoges too hard for me!

Love the trellis though. Wonder if dd would go for that. Will look at Argos now too

GoldStarAngel · 13/09/2021 23:10

Argos ones are perfect! Thank you that is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for so thank you mn (and @tywysoges) for coming up trumps.
