Grey carpet in living room

Hi! Hoping you can help me out as I have no sense of style Grin

I have moved into a house with a grey living room carpet. Its brand new and feels gorgeous barefoot so I really don't want to remove it but I am stuck on what colour on the walls/sofa.

I have quite a Victorian-gothic style. My bedroom looks akin to Morticia Addams Grin but I don't want anything too extreme in the living room. Its a good size and got a good amount of natural light.

Any help is massively appreciated Smile

We used Ceviche by Little Greene on the walls for a pale warm grey and maybe a teal/marine blue sofa?

I love a grey, blue and white palette. Perhaps a white sofa, blue chair, and lots of lovely blue accents in different shades throughout the room.

Our house had a good quality dark grey (charcoal) carpet in the room we now use as a playroom. When we moved in we quickly painted the walls white and got an orange sofa and some orange accessories. Because it's a playroom with an enormous west facing bay window we quickly put up grey blinds which I'm not that fond of, when it becomes a more adult room I'll proba ly have floaty white curtains (and replace the carpet with wood). But I do love the grey and orange. Lots go with grey, it's a good neutral, I like it with mustard or pink or lots of people like it with teal.

I moved to a house with grey carpet, I bought a grey sofa and added teal and white walls, lots of cushions with teal, hot pink, dark teal, mustard. Then I’ve also got an armchair in silver with neutral colours - blush pink cushion/blanket.
Sounds like a right hotchpotch its nice.

With a grey carpet, I think you could probably chose exactly what you like and ignore it. (At least 90% of the time) and you can cover some/a lot with a rug if it wasn’t the right colour.
