Wooden or white Venetian blinds?

I would like wooden Venetian blinds. We can't decide whether to go for white or or a light oak colour.

For living room. Floor is oak, doors are oak, walls are painted blue/grey. Furniture is being replaced but we like wood so possibly more wood. Windows are white as are skirtings and ceiling.

I think wood blinds will make the room look dark and it's too much wood. I think white will look clean and smart. DH thinks wood will look good and make a feature of the Windows...

We started with dark wooden slat, to match the wooden window frames and ledges. The dust, you would simply not credit the amount of dust that shows on darker wood.

Now have very pale wood blinds, and changed window frame too. Suddenly, so much less dust. Genius.

Did they make the room look dark?

I was thinking if we get wood we would get a very pale colour but still worried they will make the room look dark and maybe be too much wood!

We have white wood effect and light oak effect and they're brilliant. We went for fake vs real wood as we have very long drops and so the plastic is lighter. They look great and you'd never know they're plastic. They don't make the room darker.
