Where to look for sitting room inspiration?

We have a second living space/room which we'd like to restyle. It's been used as a playroom for years but since COVID it's mainly been a home office. Now that the kids are bigger and OH going back to office more we'd like to restyle and decorate to give the room a more defined feel but I don't know where to start...I'd like to use it as a second sitting room for reading, music etc with no TV. The room is very sunny (south facing) with original wood floor and fire place. We have 2 Parker knoll statesmen chairs that we'll get re-upholstered and will need to have roman blinds made for the large bay window. I'd like the room to look calm and classic but comfortable.
Where should I look for inspiration for the overall feel/design, colour scheme, fabrics, coffee table etc. I've tried Instagram but too much choice or all quite on-trend/samey. Help!

Have you tried the internet?

Seriously though, where have you looked already? Have you thought about consulting an interior designer?

Check out Studio McGee. - they have Netflix series too. You may get inspiration from one of the episodes. Good luck, sounds like a fab project to have. Enjoy.

Thank you. Yeah I'd looked on internet and insta but sometimes find the volume of options overwhelming and then lose direction or the opposite and find a lot of the trends not to our taste with strong palettes or big chunky corner sofas etc which we don't need/have space for. Anyway, I've had another browse and found some more useful sites -Elle decor, ideal home, west elm etc so will keep looking and jotting down some ideas. I'll have a look at Pinterest too as had forgotten about that, thanks.
I love Studio McGee, watched on Netflix and follow on Instagram but I think I'd kind of written that off as the houses they style are enormous and our cosy sitting room is only 10ft x 8ft max. I'll definitely take another look though as they have done some mid century styling that is similar to what I'd like. (I do have to smile at some of the Americanism's though - refresh, "window treatments" ie curtains or shutters, waterfall edged kitchen island, f*ing enormous "great rooms" - oh to have a house that size!)
I might also look into the John Lewis home design service too for a bit of help. Don't really have the budget to take on an interior designer unfortunately.

cosyhomeshots on Instagram is good. Mix of styles and rooms.

Thanks banana, I'm going to disappear down that rabbit hole for the most of today! So many gorgeous spaces...

Apartment therapy is American but has some good inspiration for smaller spaces.
