Can anyone recommend a nice pale/mid-teal colour for my kitchen walls? Struggling to find one that's not too pale or not too bright. I often see this colour used in kitchens on houses for sale on Rightmove but can't seem to find a match in real life! Thank you.

Have you tried vaspar they have 1000s of colours at B&Q, if you go to B&Q they will use it colour match any colour you want

Teal isn't pale, it's fairly dark imo. Kind of a peacock blue. Do you definitely mean teal?

Azilliondegrees · 08/08/2021 07:57

Can you find a picture of what you mean OP? Anything I’m going to suggest isn’t going to be pale/mid I don’t think because teal is a strong bold colour. You could try Dix blue from Farrow & Ball though - that was way too teal for our tastes and fairly light. Doesn’t need to be F&B, Johnstone’s will mix it.

Is something like this close? Or do you want darker?

Thanks everyone. Maybe teal isn't the right description (could be why I'm struggling!) I've found a photo on Pinterest which is the kind of thing I'm looking for. Any ideas what paint this is?

Looking at that picture maybe Mizzle by F&B?

This colour is beautiful:

Thank you! I've just picked up samples for the F&B Dix Blue, Mizzle and Craig & Rose Morris blue. Hopefully one of these will be the colour I've been looking for Smile

Also try Dulux Heritage in Green Oxide or Rosemary Leaf for a darker shade of the same colour.

I think that photo may well be Dix Blue, it’s definitely not Mizzle which is more of a grey/green. You could also look at Oval Room Blue - it’s a bit more blue, and slightly darker, but a lovely colour.

You could also look at Little Green for their Aquamarine palette (pale, mid, dark etc).

tinkywinkyshandbag · 08/08/2021 19:32

Ours is that exact colour it's called Sea Nor Sky and it's by Paint and Paper Company, a bit niche but places that stock F&B etc will generally carry it. It's a lovely color and we've had lots of compliments on it.

Having put the paint samples on the wall they all look too dark. Maybe because the walls are a pale grey rather than white. As it's a north facing kitchen I decided a little lighter than I wanted would be better than a little darker so think I'll pick Graham & Brown Ceilo as I won't have time to get any other samples before the decorator arrives. Thank you everyone for all your suggestions - I wish I'd asked earlier so I had more time to find samples!

We chose F&B pavilion blue for our kitchen which is a pale duck egg shade. We found a lot of the other colours you mentioned too dark too.

ApolloandDaphne · 09/08/2021 11:05

I tried to get a picture of it but the light is horrible today.

We used duck egg blue from Victory Colours. They are eco friendly and low VOC. Paint is stunning. I saw they were also featured in The Times last week .

Have you tired looking on paintsquared.co.uk??? We used it for our reno recently. You can get samples from multiple paint brands from them so you can view plenty of options for the colour you are after!
