Help needed with curtains!

We need your help! We have been looking for thermal curtains for over a year now and can't decide on what would suit the room. The walls are a soft grey but change of light makes them seem darker. Sofa is a light grey with blue cushions. Any suggestions?

What a beautiful window. I think you need a very pale off white fabric perhaps with a hint of silver or lavender thread.

Maybe a turquoise and grey check on a cream background. Although make sure you have curtain cords so you can keep them clean.

Maybe turquoise edging or tie backs. Or both.

What brilliant suggestions so far- thank you.

You could make an appt with an interior stylist at John Lewis. It was free when I wanted to look at lots of potential fabrics last year.

I filled out a form on the JL website, had a follow up call with the lady, then emailed her my floor plan and photos of the room. When I went into store to meet her, she'd already picked out lots of lovely fabrics. Some of them I ended up getting for cushions and to recover a footstool. She wasn't pushy in the slightest though and ordered me samples of the fabrics I liked.

I didn't end up buying curtains from them, but the process and discussion helped me decide what I did want for blinds and curtains. Ended up going to a local curtain lady for those.

Great idea- I didn't know JL offered this service.
