Stylish but very comfortable office chair

I'm going back to work in the next few weeks after maternity leave and have set up a little desk for myself in the spare room. I'd like a nice smart office chair to go with it but something that I can sit in for hours at a time and find comfortable. I don't know where to start. What would people recommend please? Thanks

Bought this for DD. Neither stylish nor comfortable but cheers me up a lot.
Sorry, not at all helpful. Good luck with your search

If you’ve got a ton of cash to spend the Eames office chairs are all lovely. There are also some decent replicas available if the budget is constrained.

Ha, that made me giggle @ThinkAboutItTomorrow. Would have been a real contender if it had more back support . And thank you @jaundicedoutlook. Budget it about £200 max.

@herewegoaagain2 are you employed? If so your company has to pay for your chair/desk/peripherals etc under the DSE regulations.

They also have to do a workstation assessment - and may recommend a chair.

It’s best if you look for an ergonomic chair over one that looks pretty as you’ll be sitting for a long time and don’t want your back to hurt.

I'm looking too - seen quite a lot in ikea that i like the look of and are budget friendly, but think i need to go and sit on them to see how comfortable they are!

I second @jaundicedoutlook. I splashed out on an eames office chair. Super super comfortable to sit in all day long and does not look like an ugly office chair in my house.

Aosom.co.uk have a decent range at good prices. I bought my hefty 6' son one for Christmas and he practically lives in it. This is just one example shorturl.at/glBTU . The one I got was similar but with a mesh back- easy to put together, sturdy and very comfy, I'm told.

I bought a mesh back one from Viking at the beginning of the first lockdown, comfy and still going strong. It was only about £50. DS is a gamer and has changed to one the same from his far more expensive gaming chair as he liked mine so much.

I looked a while ago and it looked like you had to have stylish or comfortable (or pay loads of money). I bought a saddle stool in the end as someone recommended it but I wouldn't say it was either of those things!

I've ordered a lovely chair from 2ndhnd a company that sells lovely looking refurb office chairs. Reviews look good but I've not received mine yet. Original cost was about £1200, the price was £350 but I offered £300 and they accepted. There were cheaper ones though and all good makes.
