Hallway paint colour help

Dark hallway with very little natural light. Painted it white but it looks like a hospital corridor... grey oak Karndean floor, dark grey carpet on stairs, wall going up the stairs (visible from hallway) has various shades of grey, white and a bit of black (see pic). I’m painting over the dreaded white next week and am hoping for some subtle colour... am thinking pinky grey or pale green sage?? Or something else?? Quite like farrow and ball ‘Peignoir’. Am sick of the grey and white. Hallway leads to kitchen which has the same floor and am currently decorating in warm pastels (creams, pale pinks, pale blues)

Tranquil dawn? Greeny-grey. Looks boring, but is lovely.
Or can you add some pictures on the wall to liven it up?

I had a very dark corridor and painted it very dark grey. It looked so much better. (Was in last house though so cant post pic) If it gets little light then any light colour will look a bit 'meh' - embrace the darkness!

Maybe you need a dark colour. Depending on the room, dark colours can reflect the light or create a "cosy" feeling. A light colour evidently isn't working.

You could try painting some colours on swatches of lining paper so you can move them around the space to get a feel for how they'll really look?

Slate blue/grey or something similar might sit with your other colours?

Thanks everyone! Am still undecided but will check out your suggestions!

If your north facing peignoir is very dark. If your south facing I have 5l of it going cheap 😂.

(I used pink ground in the end)

@Fluffycloudland77 I don't suppose by any miracle you are near Nottingham? If so I'd be happy to take the peignoir off your hands Smile

Peignoir is very greyish pink. I reject it each time I consider it. Tomorrow I'm painting over my beautiful Calomine hallway that gets lots of compliments with the archive colour Pink Drab. Been painting woodwork Wevet all day from Wim/White. Why? Because it was done 4 Summers ago and I adore changing my F&B colours

This is peignoir in my spare room and I love it. I considered it for the hall but it was too pinky in the lighter bit. I went for Little Greene Celestial Blue which is lovely . Your stair carpet is very dark - could you change that?
