Flooring company who will move furniture ?

I've been putting off ordering desperately needed new flooring for my living room because I won't be able to move the sofa etc before they come to do it
I saw a company who said they moved all furniture for you advertised on fb ages ago but can't remember who it was
Anyone know any companies who will do this ?

What kind of flooring? When I had wooden floors fitted I used one-man band joiners who all said it was quickest and easiest to just shove everything to one side of the room then move it back and do the other side; they were happy to help.

Carpet probably needs an empty room. Just call places and ask? You could probably hire a taskrabbit/handyman type to do the moving of stuff, separately from the flooring. Might depend too on if you’re getting an all-in-one supply and fit place or buying flooring and booking someone else to fit it. I bought my own flooring then booked the fitter separately, perhaps why they said they’d be happy to move stuff - priced it as part of the job.

Carpetright will move up to five items of heavy furniture for you, OP. Or at least that was the deal when they laid my new flooring a couple of years ago. I’m a pensioner living alone, and couldn’t have shifted my piano.
Why not just phone local showrooms of various flooring firms and ask them? Tell them they will only get your custom if they can agree to moving furniture.

John Lewis moved our sofas when we had new carpet, we had the option to add which furniture we needed moving for an extra fee, I think we paid about £50 for 2 sofas to be moved.

@fedup078I was on my own for new carpet & a wooden floor and phoned and said 1) I can't move them by myself and 2) house is v small - so they shoved the furniture to oce side - did that bit and moved back.

Done it twice - John Lewis and an independent company - I think if you speak to them they will do it.

The fitters will usually do it for an additional fee.
