Artisan tilers in the UK?

I'll be tiling a hearth as part of a room reno - no fireplace now, chimney blocked up. I'd really like some stunning arty tiles, like these New Terracotta Passino ones, but I'm struggling to find places in the UK that supply tiles like this, or like Smink tiles.

I know I can import from Portugal but the taxes and delivery cost, and risk of travel breakage, are putting me off. I need about 1.5m sq.

I've looked at reclaimed encaustic from Spain but they are too 'tall' - my tiler has said max 1cm in height or I won't get a flush finish with the wooden floor.

Any recommendations or experience with this? Would love to know of some beautiful, hand painted tiles you can buy in the UK. Thanks!

Douglas Watson Studio sells hand painted tiles and also takes custom orders. They made some bespoke tiles for my mum, she told them the idea she had in mind and they worked with her to create them.

Jane Fox at Fired4u.co.uk does custom painted tiles. She'd be worth a conversation as she's very reasonable. I commissioned a bespoke pottery piece from her recently which was stunning.
